the predictions of the Italian transfer market. Florentina in “liquidation”.

As everyone has noticed, the Italian championship is returning to the levels of its golden years. The purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo has revived charm in a league that traditionally based its peculiarity on the great defensive attention , in contrast with the other European championships more and more inclined to offensive recklessness.
Award-winning players are now looking with more and more attention to the Italian Seria A , trying to fit into one of those teams that propose themselves as direct competitors to the title of the Turin team.
The goal of the Turin management has certainly always been to win, especially now that the Juventus decade is now one step away. However it cannot be concealed that the biggest hope of the company has been to fuel the league’s economic growth by trying to encourage other important international players to land in the Italian borders to restore luster to a championship that can not only survive by inheritance and by the black and white faith.

However during the season things did not go as planned:

  • Inter that was in the midst of a generational and project reconstruction found itself in difficulty in relations with the players, which could thus cause a step backwards in the company’s plans.
  • Roma season never took off; a precarious leadership and a team that is too young did not meet the expectations of a lot of fans. Europa league is tight and investments will be weak in the summer market, indeed it is more likely a massive sale followed by patient reconstruction.
  • the non-qualification for the champions league has greatly damaged the growth rate of Milan project, which is now facing a summer of reformulation of expectations.
  • Naples is among all the competitors the team that has a more solid structure and a solid project that has been going on for years now. however the economic capacity of the team is the minor. a significant flow of investments by the president is therefore not expected.
  • we find the best situations at Atalanta and Lazio. the first has outperformed, thus creating capital gains that enrich the Italian market both in the event of a sale and a stay. Lazio instead is a company that has always been one of the most self-sustainable in the league. the presence in the team of young players of European level guarantee the company a rather hectic summer period that will move large sums of capital.
  • the team of florence ,after an aseptic season, had to to fight on the last day to avoid relegating to Serie B. The moment is dramatic, presidents are sick about the situation between the team and the fans and are willing to sell the team and to change leadership. The new management will be obliged to restart a sustainable project and so forced to sell all the relevant pawns of the team. Chiesa , Muriel, Simeone, Biraghi, Veretout, milenkovic above all.

As we can see the economic and media growth led by the Turin club was not followed by all the other clubs. it was not primarily followed by those clubs that would have had to outperform to reduce the gap with the leaders. the effect was wishing to be contrary; cristiano ronaldo’s media strength helped the middle-ranking teams, being the media impact generated proportionately more useful than for the leading teams that instead found themselves in the middle of a storm. On one side the juventus lengthened and on the other the medium-small ones shortened.
the destruction of the pre-existing equilibrium has slowed the economic growth of the big ones up to lead to the total decline of one of these (Florentine).

juventus magnetism

In this climate of sporting confusion it is difficult from the athlete’s point of view, especially if young, to make a rational and analytical choice on which team to choose for continuing growth.
it is in this situation of uncertainty that many young players choose a safe haven maybe prefering to join the ranks of the Turin club. Zaniolo and Chiesa above all will be the market names this summer. in March their shirts were already in black and white, however, nothing concrete has been achieved so far.
what is certain is that with the imbalances that have been created in the Italian league it will be difficult to see huge direct investments abroad for the purchase of internationally renowned players, in fact most of the names that will be in vogue this summer will be mainly internal names at the Seria A. Inter and Napoli will be the only ones that will be able to participate in the auctions for the big names of Italian football, the others are probably cut off due to the unsatisfactory seasons they performed.

future balances

the boundaries between categories is less and less clear. every year the big names always make more and more effort due to the growing competition of teams with important supporters and / or stadiums (Atalanta, Torino and Sassuolo above all). the unpredictability of proximate seasonal outcomes leads prosecutors and players to choices that base their determinants on two main aspects:

  • the guarantee of a European stage (safe only in Juventus and Naples)
  • the presence of a thick coach who makes the difference

it is not to underestimate the importance that the figure of the coach is gradually assuming. in this climate, where the classification categories are fading away, the key figure in guaranteeing the maximum performance of a group could increasingly be the coach.
